The concert hall where this was recorded has poor acoustics and the individual instruments seem to blend in together hence the definition between instruments on this recording is poor. It's not the Q3HD recorders fault. In order to use a quality external microphone with the line input on this recorder, you need to use a mixer and on a portable recorder like this it becomes very bulky. Zoom missed the boat by not incorporating video into the H4n platform. It would have been a total winner if it had. ZOOM, PAY ATTENTION and get it right on the third time around.
